Thanks to this midwest heat and humidity, not much has been happening recently. We have started harvesting though! Yeah!
Today we got some ground cherries.
And this morning, we had a breakfast that was completely from our farm. Eggs from our chickens and zucchini, squash, tomatoes, and herbs from our garden. It was really yummy. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture of that. Sorry.
All the animals are doing good. The meat chickens are getting fatter everyday. The new layers are starting to lay “beginner eggs” that look so small and funny next to the older chickens’ eggs. T-Bone the Angus Beef calf is getting big and unruly. The roosters are starting to crow and the turkey is trying to gobble and he thinks he is soooo important with his “harem”. One of our cats had 4 kittens two weeks ago, and the kittens are starting to explore. All in all, we don’t need television, we have a farm! 🙂
Some of you know that we’re looking at houses. Well, just when we thought we found “the one”, we found four other properties that look interesting! I sometimes feel that God is teasing us. “Here is what you want, but here is another five properties that you’d like too.”
So, that’s life on the farm.
